I have a specific question which I hope you can answer. Recently, an adoptive mother (who has had no contact with the child since 2001) requested - and obtained - the child's core assessment from Social Services. The child is now aged 14, and as she had been abused by her adoptive mother, was absoloutely distraught to discover that her information had been passed on. Does the child have any rights in this situation? For example, can she sue Social Services under the DP Act? Incidentally, Social Services were aware of the child's feelings towards her adoptive mother.
