This is great but also really really depressing. Nine and a half months after I made a complaint and they are "still determining" its nature! Yet it is 290 down from the earliest one where they are still determining the nature of the complaint!

The spreadsheet really is a shocking indictment of the FOI system and the ICO. I mean I have to go to this website to even find out what is happening (I occasionally get extremely uninformative automatic letters sent to me by the ICO).

This behaviour actually encourages secrecy as any civil servant will know the way to prevent disclosure of any info which is at all time-sensitive is to refuse all the way and it will never get out there in a way which could make someone accountable. What a joke.

I totally agree. This database should be available on the Commissioner's own website along with more detail on what the cases are actually about. Please put some pressure on the commissioner by asking either Richard Thomas or Graham Smith for the data. Their address is:
Information Commissioner's Office
Wycliffe House
Water Lane
Wilmslow
Cheshire SK9 5AF

My personal interest is in FAC0089403 regarding the Farm Id on eggs. It is good to be able to see what it's status is.

However, it would be better if I could do this online rather than downloading an Excel spreadsheet and unlocking it. It
would also be good if there was some visibility of the nature of other 26 cases against defra. I might not be alone with
my desire to translate a code on an egg into a producer.
