National Parks funding

Rural Affairs Minister Alun Michael announced the grant settlement for the National Parks and the Broads Authority 14 January 2005. The allocation takes effect from April. The total grant for National Parks for 2005/06 will amount to £42.13 million, an increase of 17.8% above the current year. The grants for 2005/06 are divided as follows:

Broads – £3,933,182
Dartmoor – £4,308,058
Exmoor – £3,616,422
Lake District – £6,290,679
New Forest (notional) – £3,517,297
Northumberland – £3,010,044
North York Moors – £4,933,864
Peak District – £7,542,550
Yorkshire Dales – £4,906,870
Discretionary fund (to be allocated later) – £71,034
Total – £42,130,00
