AG: Request for Internal Review

16 February 2005

Dear Mr Simpson,
I would like to appeal the decision to refuse my requests asking for the Attorney General’s advice on ID cards and the Iraq war.

In addition, I also seek to appeal the contention that to provide a listing of topics on which the Attorney General has advised would exceed the cost limit. Surely this is a record of such basic necessity that the department could not function without it. Are we to assume that no one in the Attorney General’s office has any idea what they’re being asked advice on and the department’s overall workload? This lack of record-keeping is surely noteworthy as an example of government inefficiency.
